Trump puts intelligence chief Clayton atop AI task force with 120-day report deadline
President Trump named Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton to lead a White House task force called the Super Intelligence Force. Clayton told the Wall Street Journal the group has 120 days to report on the risks and opportunities presented by AI and the federal government's appropriate role in addressing them. "The risk of not being first is high," Clayton said. Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Pentagon technology chief Emil Michael and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor will help lead the group, Trump wrote on Truth Social. Members also include the vice president, the defense and Treasury secretaries and former AI czar David Sacks, per Semafor. The task force's charter calls for a review of how the government handles reporting of AI related breaches and hacks. The panel answers to Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
